About the client:
The client wanted to substantially renovate an older home’s living room and master bedroom and add a pool and carport. Kirsten found us through word-of-mouth recommendation and was a first-time renovator.
The challenge was to renovate an old Queensland property with its own structural constraints while also meeting the client’s brief.

Our client’s experience
Sam’s really good at what he does from a client’s point of view. He took on a lot of the heavy lifting and made sure we understood how the process and decision-making was and how much it would cost. This was the first reno for us and we learnt a lot about the process.

Sam has many connections to other skilled workers for if you need to talk to someone. He worked well with us throughout the renovation process. Sam was good at explaining everything, especially around subcontractors and how they worked. He managed the quality of the work and made sure the workers were doing a good job as he was on-site all the time.
Sam made sure he got a really good quality result for the entire project, not just what he was directly responsible for.
The result was beyond our expectations despite the industry challenges faced at the time e.g. shortage of workers. Every time I look at the house it blows me away and makes me very happy!
After we moved in, there was extreme rain, but the house coped well and we didn’t experience any structural issues.
Sam is a real people’s person and his team clearly love working for him. He got them to site on time and to be productive. He has a good approach with his team, and it made the work get done faster.

The communication was excellent! He was always good at explaining why particular parts were happening now and when workers would return to continue the work. He was always available for a chat every time we called.
