Renovating a home to make it flood resilient

About the client:

The client purchased a property in a floodplain post 2022 and was looking to raise her home to make it compliant with the Queensland Resilient Homes intiative and to mitigate their risk of flood in the future.

Building services provided:

  • Raise of the house to above the approved flood-safe levels from the Queensland Government

  • Relocation of all services on the property to higher flood-safe levels

  • Complete renovation of the inside of the property

  • Built in the underneath carport for safe and secure storage, whilst also being flood compliant

Our client’s experience

Sam was great from the minute he stepped onto the site, he was very knowledgeable, and it was clear he knew what he was talking about.

There were a lot of steps in ensuring the property was approved by the Queensland Government, but Sam went above and beyond to complete the necessary paperwork and jump through the right hoops to ensure we were compliant.

People are still blown away every time they visit our home, and we call it the 'house in the sky'; it is flood-resistant now, but it still feels like a comfortable and cosy family home.

We would absolutely work with Sam on another project and highly recommend him and the rest of his team!
